Gallery 905 features exhibit from Birmingham artist Dori DeCamillis

Gallery 905 in Selma will feature a solo exhibition from Birmingham artist and Red Dot Gallery co-owner Dori DeCamillis, beginning on May 1 with a public reception. 

"Known for her vivid, symbolic oil paintings, DeCamillis’ newest series delves into the complexity of human perception," said a press release from Gallery 905. "Initially inspired by her own inner states—emotions, habits, aspirations—her work has since evolved to explore broader human perspectives, ranging from clarity to distortion. Each painting functions as a window into how we interpret reality."

Included in her work is "The Without a Net Card Deck" described in the press release as an "artistic inkblot test." 

“The open-ended nature of the subjects lends them to broad interpretation,” DeCamillis said. “They ask us to question our assumptions about meaning, instead of taking for granted that the first narrative that arises is the right one.”

The reception will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the gallery located on 905 Water Avenue in Selma.
